On the evening of Thursday, September 29, Runway Houston gave us an evening of fashion plus philanthropy as Project Runway alums and local designers showcased sneak peeks of their fashion lines on the runway at River Oaks District.
Project Runway All Star designers Helen Castillo (New York) and Fabio Costa (New York), Project Runway Season 14 designer Lindsey Creel of M.E. Shirley (Austin), local designers Paola Contreras of Inclán Studio, Isrel Fonseca and emerging The Art Institute of Houston designer Thao Phuong Le to the runway.
Preview collections from Alan Gonzalez, Chasity Sereal, Jessie Cragg Dugan, Shalon Morris, Danny Nguyen, Sara Cline, New Union Clothing and Annie Chyrful in installation form as well as art from Kelley Devine Art, The Shawn Artis Gallery, Sophia Jacqueline, Shilo de Armas, Mike Beradino, Nick Anderson and Taft McWhorter Fine Art Gallery.
Since inception in 2011, Runway Houston has maintained philanthropic roots by raising funds for various non-profits throughout the years. This year’s event benefitted Houston Crime Stoppers and Yellowstone Academy.
