If you consider chocolate to be an essential food group (and if you don't, we don't trust you), head to Central Market, where now through February 16th, hundreds of cocoa-infused comestibles are on hand for their annual Winter Chocolate Festival. In addition to offering deep discounts—including 50 percent off chocolate baking ingredients—on much of their regular chocolate wares, Central Market is also offering uniquely prepared foods such as five-chile cocoa-seasoned rib eye steaks, chocolate lovers' chocolate pie, chocolate breads and chicken mole enchiladas. Does it all work? See for yourself.

The sweet excess continues with products including bourbon chocolate heart-shaped Capriole goat cheese, chocolate butter and Mayana chocolate bars in creative flavors such as “Kitchen Sink," which packs in peanut butter, crispy rice, pretzels, dark chocolate, caramel, and fleur de sel.

Throughout the festival there will also be ongoing in-store demos and samplings, including chocolate fudge sauce and chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, among others, as are several chocolate-themed cooking classes.

Go to Central Market’s website for more details.
