Child abuse prevention was brought to the forefront at The Thread Alliance’s Blue Plate Special Kickoff Party on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at The Tasting Room-Uptown Park.
Attendees enjoyed light bites and wine while swooning over the display of “I’m Glad I’m Me, Weaving the Thread of Love from Generation to Generation” by Thread Alliance Founder Sheila Aron along with her BabyLovies, baby blankets donated to child abuse non-profits in Houston.
The Blue Plate Special is The Thread Alliance’s public awareness and education campaign throughout April, Child Abuse Prevention Month, that encourages Houstonians to take action against child abuse and toward healing. Local restaurants support the cause by offering a “Blue Plate Special” and by donating a flat dollar amount or percentage of proceeds to The Thread Alliance. Participating restaurants can be found here.
