Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Hilton Houston Post Oak, the Houston Area Parkinson Society hosted their Annual Awards Gala Changing the Face of Parkinson's. With the help of over 350 supporters they were able raise $250,000 for the programs that help so many throughout their foundation's community. The programs include free therapeutic exercise and support groups, social services, education, transportation, emergency financial aid and subsidized respite care to families affected by Parkinson's in eight Houston-area counties. The evening, planned by event chairs Hala and Joe Ahmad and young professionals chairs Izzy and John Schulte, was full of fun with dinner and dancing, and of course the live auction sporting items such as: autographed Astros jersey, fabulous trips, and finally boxing gloves signed by Muhammad Ali. Additionally to the live auction, there was a raffled gift certificate of $7,500 provided by Tenenbaum Jewelers! There were awards handed out and an outstanding keynote speaker Diane Rehm. It was an event that you didn't want to miss!
