Want to wear your Texas pride on your sleeve? We suggest hitting Paris Texas Apparel Co. in the next three days: This weekend only, the retailer known for tees, ties, and all things Lone Star-centric is hosting a massive warehouse sale ahead of its March move to a new location on Voss & Woodway.
To make room for new inventory, store favorites are deeply discounted—by 40 to 80 percent—through Saturday, January 27. Most everything in the store is $25 or under, like T-shirts bearing such relatable proclamations as "You had me at breakfast tacos" and "Body by chips and queso" ($15-20); ties and bowties tiled with armadillos or longhorns ($20); leather goods like needlepoint wallets ($25); and wall prints, including the diplomatic, "You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas" ($10 and up). Guyabaras, normally $140, are now $90 with three style options: "Dictator" (think Chavez and Castro), "Hemingway" (self-explanatory), and "Game Day" (hook 'em).
Paris Texas Apparel is the brainchild of brothers Patrick and Paul Hotze, who, over Lone Stars at a barbecue joint in Austin, concluded, "Paris may be the fashion capital of the world, but Texas is a whole 'nother world unto itself—so we decided to build our own fashion capital right here in this great state."
As such, Paris Texas designs "celebrate all that is great about Texas," from plenty of queso and margaritas to collegiate merch (A&M, LSU, and UH are all represented) to "Texas Prozac"–whiskey on the rocks and a smoking cigar.
We've included a few of our favorites here, but this weekend sale warrants a stop to see for yourself. Until its March move, Paris Texas Apparel is located in The Shoppes at Memorial Villages, 1022 Wirt Road, on the north side of I-10.
