If you're sharing air with Virgil Abloh and Kylie Jenner, you better dress to impress.
And y'all did. NRG Park was full of show-stopping looks last Saturday, November 17 for Travis Scott's inaugural Astroworld Festival. The highly anticipated musical extravaganza, an ode to both the dearly departed amusement park and Houston hip-hop culture, brought major stars and carnival rides to the city for one jam-packed, nearly 12-hour day. And while there was plenty of fashion to behold on stage—Post Malone's glow-in-the-dark, clown-inspired ensemble; Lil Wayne's technicolor Balenciaga get-up; Young Thug's sparkly cable knit cardigan and plaid pants—most looks were served amongst the crowd.
That's where you'd find super trendy, Kylie-approved bike shorts and crop tops alongside camo cargo pants and chunky white sneakers. More than a few thigh-high boots (this writer's included) came out to play, as did enough fanny packs (slung over the shoulder, natch) to fill the Astrodome. There were the requisite odes to NASA, Houston sports teams, and La Flame himself—lines at the merch tent stayed long all day. And, taking full advantage of the pleasant weather—Scott's appearance coincided with the conclusion of an out-of-character, enduring cold front—some chose to forego clothes entirely in favor of body paint.
