The Houston SPCA Gala was held at the Houstonian Hotel on Friday, April 13 and was a huge success-raising nearly $400,000 to give a vast array of animals a second chance at life!
This year’s theme, HOUSTON SPCA STRONG, honoring Harvey Heroes and spotlighting those who teamed up with the Houston SPCA during the unprecedented natural disaster so the Houston SPCA could rescue 2,300 animals, reunite 300 animals with their original owners and provide 120 tons of pet food and supplies to our community in need.
The Gala was elegantly decorated as a spring garden, representative of a renewed beginning. As the leading animal protection agency in the gulf coast region, the Houston SPCA helps more than 40,000 animals annually including dogs, cats, horses and farm animals, native wildlife and exotic species.
Attendees included the Honorable Judge Ed Emmett and wife Gwen Emmett; Zane and Brady Carruth; Houston SPCA President Patti Mercer, KPRC’s Houston Life Host Derrick Shore served as emcee; Honorable Judge Roberta Lloyd and Don McWilliams; Simon and Linda Eyles; Harris County Constable Alan Rosen and wife Jennifer Rosen; Janiece Longoria and Doug Bauer. This year’s lifesaving event was chaired by Michele Dienna and Milton West.
