The 11th Annual Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation' "Run for the Roses" Kentucky Derby viewing party has become a Houston tradition. For the second year in a row, The Palm was transformed into a glamorous Churchill Downs-inspired event space, filled with a crowd of over 200. Guest enjoyed carefully crafted Mint Juleps paired with high-end steakhouse fare and tried their luck betting on the horse races and playing the "Satisfy Your Spirits" ring toss game to take home top-shelf liquor and fine wines. Gentleman in seersucker & linen, and ladies donning Southern belle motifs with their grandest Derby hats watched the best two minutes in sports on large screen TVs, posed in front of the step & repeat, and competed for the title of "Best Hat" and "Best Dressed Gentleman," awards which were sponsored by celebrity fashion designer Danny Nguyen Couture.
Event chairs and annual event hosts, Cindi and Dr. Franklin Rose honored Lily Paxson-Salinas this year. A rousing success - the fundraiser raised over $30,000 to support the Holly Rose Ribbon Foundation's noble cause to provide free reconstructive surgery and college scholarships to cancer survivors and their families.
