A section of the offerings at BLVD Place.

If, like Ishmael, you find yourself growing grim about the mouth, and feel nothing but a damp, drizzly November in your soul; if it’s all you can do to hold fast to the moral principles that prevent you from methodically knocking people’s hats off, then one of two things is wrong: You’ve either fallen Outlander-style into a bygone century, or you need to treat yourself. Lucky for you, Houston’s home to a splendid array of indulgences, including the grand BLVD Place.

Located along Post Oak Boulevard (get it?) in swanky uptown, BLVD Place is a study in style. Floor-to-ceiling windows and outward-facing shops bring natural light and a clean, contemporary feel to the 1.8 million square feet of retail, restaurants, salons, and more, making the 20-acre mixed-use lifestyle destination the perfect stop for everything from a friends’ day out to a couple’s retreat. Here are just a few of our favorite options to make a day of it.

Where to: Get Pampered

The Boardroom

This manly retreat where dude-rockers like George Thorogood and the Eagles pair well with dark wood paneling and complimentary Shiner Bock offers a range of spa and salon services for dudes, including pedicures, eyebrow waxing, or a deep tissue massage. Or go straight for the signature Benchmark, which combines a haircut with a shampoo, scalp and hand massage, hot towel treatment, and paraffin hand dip. Low-maintenance men needn’t shy away—The Boardroom’s philosophy is simple: A good cut should require minimal styling. (It wouldn’t kill you to use some hair product every once in a while, though.)

Treat yourself to anything from a facial to a mani-pedi at Houston’s premier non-toxic nail salon. Relax with their 18-step nail services, and be sure to opt for the exfoliating sugar scrub treatment, too. Your long-lasting polish goes even further when you know you’ve avoided harmful chemicals.

Brides, party-goers, or makeup enthusiasts can glam it up here with unmatched makeup services, from application to one-on-one lessons. You'll find a range of options based on your needs, like a $25 brow shaping, $65–$75 event makeup application, or full-on 2.5-hour lesson where you'll walk away armed with your own color chart and instructions on everything in your new beauty routine.

Happy Tuesday! |OPEN: 11AM - 7PM|. We can’t wait to see you!!!

Where to: Go Shopping

You can't miss the pink doors of Bellami, a hair salon with services ranging from hair extensions (clip-in and permanent) to lashes to wigs. Not ready to commit to a new 'do? Try clip-in sideswept bangs, pink ombre extensions, or a faux wrap pony to channel your inner Ariana Grande.

Budget-conscious shoppers, fear not: this locally owned boutique, which celebrates two years in business this summer, is an oasis of affordable finds in notoriously pricy uptown. You'll find dresses, rompers, and going-out tops aplenty for under $100. We vouch for the store's own collection of soft, slouchy graphic tees, printed with slogans both empowering and relatable—"babes support babes" and "bra off, hair up, still the boss"—for around $46 a pop.

Where to: Chow down

All successful Treat Yourself Days should end with an unforgettable meal. Our picks to keep it all in the neighborhood: hip and healthy True Food Kitchen; North Italia, where simple Italian ingredients shine with sophistication; or Rise n°2, which will give you a new appreciation for soufflé, the ultimate temperamental treat. Of course, each dining destination offers an array of wines and tempting libations, so raise a glass and make a toast to self-indulgence.
