Houston’s sweetheart continues her reign as Queen Bee, with the 59th annual Grammy Award nominations being no exception. Beyoncé took the lead with nine noms, including album of the year for “Lemonade,” which tackled topical issues like race and infidelity (lookin’ at you, Becky) as well as song and record of the year with “Formation.”

The world’s favorite brassy Brit also garnered the coveted top three spots with her album “25”—which has sold more than 10 million copies—and record and song of the year for the breakup anthem that you couldn’t get out of your head for months, “Hello.”

This year’s award show, hosted by CBS on Feb. 12 in Los Angeles, includes other heavy hitters, like Drake, Rihanna and Kayne West, who garnered eight nominations, and Chance the Rapper bringing in seven. Also, Justin Bieber received an album of the year nom for Purpose, so all hope is not lost for 2016.

Jeanne grew up in Cajun country where the bayous look a little different from the Bayou City’s. After graduating from LSU, she garnered lifestyle editorial experience on staff at New Orleans Weddings, Southern Living and Country Living magazines, as well as freelancing for Architectural Digest, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Brides and Coastal Living magazines. After living throughout the Southeast, Jeanne and her husband packed up their boots for Texas in June 2016 and haven’t looked back thanks to Tex-Mex, bluebonnets and bigger hair. When she’s not covering the world-renowned arts scene of Houston, Jeanne can be found walking her hound dog Pepper in the Heights, braking for antique markets that rarely have air conditioning or rearranging her living room furniture (again).
