If at first you don’t succeed at two presidential nominations, try Dancing With The Stars.

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry will put on his dancing shoes for ABC’s 23rd season of the reality competition show. Perry joins the stage with rapper Vanilla Ice, former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson and Olympians Laurie Hernandez and—insert eye roll here—Ryan Lochte.

This isn’t the first time a Texas elected official has joined the cast. In 2009, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay partnered with Cheryl Burke in Season 9, but exited the show due to stress fractures in his feet.

Tune in to the premiere on Monday, Sept 12 on ABC to see Perry’s cowboy boots scuff the stage.

Jeanne grew up in Cajun country where the bayous look a little different from the Bayou City’s. After graduating from LSU, she garnered lifestyle editorial experience on staff at New Orleans Weddings, Southern Living and Country Living magazines, as well as freelancing for Architectural Digest, Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Brides and Coastal Living magazines. After living throughout the Southeast, Jeanne and her husband packed up their boots for Texas in June 2016 and haven’t looked back thanks to Tex-Mex, bluebonnets and bigger hair. When she’s not covering the world-renowned arts scene of Houston, Jeanne can be found walking her hound dog Pepper in the Heights, braking for antique markets that rarely have air conditioning or rearranging her living room furniture (again).
