Pillow Talk: Casper Brings Free Naps to Houston

Naptour full 1 2 ybyvoo

To nap, perchance to dream, on the Casper Napmobile.

This may come as a surprise, considering that approximately 84 percent of Houston retail space is occupied by Mattress Firm stores, but the mattress industry is currently in the midst of being disrupted.

Casper, co-founded by Sugar Land native Philip Krim, has changed the sleep game by getting rid of all that expensive showroom overhead and instead manufacturing a single premium, Platonic ideal of a mattress and selling them online (shipped in an impossibly small box) at a competitive price.

The business has been named one of the best inventions of 2015 by Time magazine and now Houstonians can check it out personally as the Casper Napmobile—a huge trailer with a quartet of sleeping pods—hits Houston this weekend as part of its West Coast Nap Tour. The Napmobile can be found Friday through Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. in the Biscuit parking lot (next to the famed Biscuit Paint Wall) in Montrose.

Whether or not you’re in the market for a mattress, interested parties can treat themselves to a brief respite in a chaotic world by booking a half-hour nap slots via casper.com/naptour. Sometimes seeing is believing. In this case, maybe sleeping is.
