When, Where to Watch the Blue Angels Fly Over Houston Today

You’ll see or hear (or both!) the Blue Angels today in and around Houston.

During lunch Wednesday, you may want to step outside and look up at the sky.

The Blue Angels—the U.S. Navy’s flight demonstration squadron that thrills with its synchronized cruising, swooping, and zooming—will be flying over Houston this afternoon, part of an ongoing series of flyovers above American cities to honor COVID-19 first responders.

The Houston fly-over is the second of three the Blue Angels will conduct Wednesday, the others being in Dallas-Fort Worth and New Orleans.

The squadron will arrive into our airspace at 12:30 p.m., starting the flyover in The Woodlands. From there:

  • They’ll head south past Spring before making a sharp left turn northeast toward Humble.
  • They’ll turn back south and whoosh past Humble and toward the Bayou City, threading right through Downtown and looping around the Medical Center.
  • Afterward, they’ll head southeast through Missouri City and Sugar Land, turn north and slice past Katy, and make a U-turn near Bellaire.
  • Then they’ll go up and around Hwy 290 and turn back toward Houston (12:55 p.m.), exiting by flying over the Heights, Downtown and EaDo, and Pasadena and South Houston. They’ll be gone by 1 p.m.

The Blue Angels recommend people do not travel to view the flyover and, instead, watch from their homes.
