Itās time to undeck the halls, Houston, take down the lights, and retire the Christmas tree. However, if you opted for a real Douglas fir this year and canāt throw your plastic nine-footer in the attic for next year, the City of Houston has a few places where you can recycleĀ your tree for free.Ā Ā
Folks can bring their Christmas tree to the following locations through January 31. To donate your not-so-evergreen, the tree must be free of any decorations. Yep, that means ornaments, tinsel, lights, and stands.Ā Also not permitted: flocked trees with fake snow.
Additionally, Living Earth will ground donated trees into mulch that you can buy to grow your trees of Christmas future.Ā Ā
