3 Places Where You Should Host a Party

After Gaby Goodweather threw together her daughter’s island-themed bat mitzvah party last year—think pink sand, beach balls, and plenty of leis—she decided to create her own Houston-based event-planning business. Below, three of her favorite venues, perfect for any coming-of-age celebration:

For the Untraditional | Lucky Strike

The neon-hued downtown bowling alley provides a laidback option for the teenager who wants a party but doesn’t want to dance the “Cha Cha Slide” for the umpteenth time. This place provided the perfect chill-to-fun ratio for a recent bar mitzvah, Goodweather tells us. “The dance floor was small, but it was really more about the bowling and giant Jenga games.”

For the Nature Lover | Evelyn’s Park

Once home to Teas Nursery in Bellaire, this five-acre park includes a lush space suitable for around 200 guests, spanning a covered structure and spacious lawn. “The venue can be dressed up or can be casual,” says Goodweather.

For the Trendy | The Revaire

This sleek new space off Old Katy Road just inside the 610 Loop, formerly a munitions factory, is a chic, contemporary alternative to the traditional Four Seasons soiree. Its elegantly luxurious, monochromatic look sets the scene for hosting up to 1,000 revelers.
