We at Perfect Party HQ don’t know about you, but simply cannot resist the charms of Jonathan Van Ness, the delightful Queer Eye grooming expert who’s just released a new memoir, Over the Top, and who’s bringing his Road to Beijing tour through Houston this month (Dec. 7 at Revention). He’ll no doubt be starstruck by Lynn Wyatt, Houston’s ageless society queen, who is donating $10 million for a badly needed makeover of Jones Plaza, to be renamed the Lynn Wyatt Square for the Performing Arts. Also on the invite list: Garrett Bradley, the New Orleans–based artist and filmmaker getting her first solo show at the CAMH, opening Dec. 19; Bill Balleza, the beloved KPRC 2 news anchor who’s set to retire next month after a stellar five-decade career; Emma Doineau, the Locke Lord attorney who recently was honored by Houston Volunteer Lawyers for her pro bono work; and, finally, Jose Longoria, the mariachi musician and teacher who’s signed on as director of the Mariachi Pumas, the new ensemble at UH.
