Arriving Misconceptions: Houston is homogeneous: Has discovered that Houston is incredibly diverse. “There’s a lot of culture that I wasn’t expecting.”

She now carpools to work, but continues to walk or bike around Midtown. “Everything is so spread apart. They’re not kidding with ‘everything is bigger in Texas.’”
We’re the anti-California: “In the Midtown, downtown and Montrose areas, it’s pretty legit. I don’t notice that much of a difference between here and Berkeley or Oakland.”

Best Photo So Far: Doing a handstand in front of Market Square’s Houston Is Inspired mural
If She Were Mayor: “Work on public transportation. It would be my number one priority.”
She Really Loves Us! “It’s such an awesome, growing city.”
Mainly for Our Beer: “New breweries are opening like every weekend, and that’s very exciting to be at the beginning of this almost remaking of Houston. And I think it’s going to be really good.”
