The Texans defended their seven-game winning streak on Monday, November 26, sacking the Tennessee Titans’ quarterback six times on the way to a 34-17 victory.

This was the first game played after the death of Texans’ owner Robert C. “Bob” McNair, who passed away the day after Thanksgiving. It was also the “Salute to Service” game of the season, in which the team honors all military members and their families.

The Titans jumped out to an early lead with an opening drive field goal followed by a 61-yard passing touchdown by Tennessee quarterback Marcus Mariota.

That’s when Lamar Miller began to lead the Texans back into the game with several brilliant runs, followed by a touchdown by Texans’ receiver Demaryius Thomas.

Houston’s star quarterback DeShaun Watson ran in for a touchdown in the second quarter. The Texans defense stopped a crucial scoring opportunity for the Titans near the goal line, which was then followed by a brilliant 97-yard score by running back Lamar Miller.

After the game, JJ Watt dedicated the night’s win to the team’s late owner. “This one’s for you, Mr. McNair!”

DeShaun Watson also had words of appreciation for the late owner: “This night is for the McNair family. I know he’s watching over us, and we’re going to make sure that we make him proud.”
