Bespoke sauna studios are not something you see a lot of in Houston. That may be partially due to all the sweating we get from our natural habitat. But, it’s also because sauna studios mostly exist only in country clubs and high-end fitness studios. That certainly was Katherine Garcia’s perception before visiting California and stumbling upon a new infrared sauna studio “scene.”
Her curiosity led her to try it, love it, research it, and then ultimately launch her own studio (and first-of-it’s-kind) in Houston. Katherine believed that everyone should be able to experience the benefits of saunas without having to book a spa appointment or join a gym.
And, you’re probably wondering what the difference is between a conventional sauna and an infrared sauna. Infrared saunas use infrared heat and stay at a lower temperature than traditional saunas. This allows you to safely stay in the sauna for up to 45 minutes, giving you more time to reset and enjoy the benefits of a deeper sweat.
Sudor, which is Spanish for sweat, was created to give others the opportunity to experience restorative sweats and to unplug from daily life whenever needed. Sudor will be a place to find some mental space from the whirlwind of the world, enjoy a deep sweat, detoxify, and reset in your own serene sauna suite.
Katherine and her team also offer some other wonderful amenities like a cold plunge, chromotherapy, smart TVs, towel service, showers located on location, and a lounge area that is fully stocked for hydration and replenishment.
