There’s nothing better than a summer getaway in Georgetown, Texas. Located 30-miles outside of Austin, with plenty of hustle but less of the bustle. The City, fondly known as, The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas, offers small-town charm mixed with big-city tastes.

Pack your taste buds, Georgetown serves up the good stuff.
Local foodie favorites, such as Blue Corn Harvest, Greenhouse Craft Food, Wildfire Restaurant and Nancy’s Sky Garden cook up everything from sizzling steaks to vegetarian plates. Whatever you fancy you’ll find more than enough to dine for on the Square and off. Have a few sweet teeth? 18 Carrot Bakery and Galaxy Bakery and Coffee House will let you savor the yum down to the last crumb.

From happy days to happy hours, you’ll have plenty to toast in Georgetown.
Pints runneth over with craft brews at Rentsch Beer and there’s always a comfy spot to sip a cold one at “Georgetown’s Living Room,” Mesquite Creek Outfitters. Prefer grapes to hops? You’ll find plenty of Hill Country wine to taste at Georgetown Winery and Grape Creek Winery.

Need more than food for thought?
With its Victorian architecture, bounty of natural beauty and summer-ready events, Georgetown offers the trifecta of “eat, drink and be merry.” History buffs can discover the stories of Georgetown’s past at the historic Courthouse and Williamson Museum, while outdoor adventurers can cast a line in Lake Georgetown or play in Blue Hole. If you’re feeling festive, tune in for the tunes during Music on the Square, the summer concert series occurs most Fridays from June through August. Or get artsy and take in a show at The Palace Theatre, then browse the talent at Georgetown Art Center.

The temps are heating up and the days are getting longer, which means it’s time to take summer by the shine. Plan for more than a day to cool off and settle in to your next weekend away in Georgetown.
