If you go out in public, remember to follow social distancing guidelines (at least six feet between you and anyone else), wash hands often and thoroughly, and wear a face mask.
Houston, prepare to be pampered. As we shake off 2020 and dive head first into whatās already looking like an equally stressful year, at least we can maybe start things off with some relaxation. Opening early this year are new spa OVME and the newly renovated Trellis Spa, which are sure to massage away at least some stress.
OVME
Medical spa chain OVME (pronounced āof meā), which has locations all over the country, including Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas, is opening its first Houston spot in River Oaks on January 19.Ā
āOur team was drawn to River Oaks by the vibrancy and diversity of its people and its uniquely Texan culture,ā Ā Dr. Mark McKenna, founder & CEO of OVME Medical Aesthetics, tellsĀ Houstonia.Ā āHouston is literally full of energy and home to dynamic business, arts, philanthropic, and sporting communities.Ā It feels like home.āĀ
The spaĀ will offer services for face, body, health, and skin, plus other services for men. Think facials, microneedling, hair removal, Botox, fillers, I.V. hydration therapies, and so much moreāāBest in class solutions for age-appropriate skin health through a variety of medical aesthetic services,ā says McKenna.Ā
Services will range fromĀ $12 to $1,500, but there are monthly memberships as wellā$50/month for the Access Member level, and $99/month for Elite membersāthat offer service discounts, weekly B-12 shots, same-day Botox appointments, and VIP access to OVME events.Ā
OVME also has aĀ skincare product lineā including aĀ brightening cream, an antioxidant + Vitamin C serum, gel cleansers, exfoliating cleansers, and moreāthat will be available at the spa for use in home, too.
Because of Covid, says McKenna, āOur grand opening in Houston will be a bit more subdued, but fun and exciting nonetheless. Our primary concern, of course, is always for the health and safety of our clients and team members.āĀ
The spa, located at 3021 Kirby Dr, will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.Ā
Trellis Spa at the Houstonian
When Trellis reopens next month at the Houstonian, itāll be the largest spa in Texas. After undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation and expansion to a cool 26,500 square feet, the luxuriousĀ spa is massive, to say the least.Ā
āIt was not planned that way,āĀ Trellis SpaāsĀ general manager, Renae Cassam, tells us. āIt was just something that naturally happened during the design process. We thought about what would make the ideal spa experience.ā Turns out that includesĀ a lot of new additions,Ā such as aĀ new 6,500-square-foot soaking pool and garden, which is intended to increase your circulation and cardiovascular strength, provide stress relief, and boost your immunity. Guests can buy a day-access pass to the soaking pools, or they can get access through purchasing other spa services.Ā
Guests can also enjoy the new dining room, which overlooks the treetops of nearby oaks; the new, brightly lit makeup studio and pedicure bar; and an expanded tranquility room for before and after spa treatments.Ā
There are new services joining an already stellar spa menu, too, including touchless therapies, such as Cellis Slimming, a 30-minute treatment that can help improve your silhouette, smooth your skin, and rejuvenate your complexion. Thereās also an MLX Dome that utilizes far infrared, plasma, and light therapy to aid metabolism, increase energy levels, reduce inflammation, and more. Plus, twoĀ Gharieni massage tablesāāfound at no other spa in America,āĀ Cassam says.
āAny treatment can be relaxing; itās what you do before and after that really enhances your wellness experience,ā Cassam says. āWhen you book a service at Trellis the Spa at the Houstonian, your experience will be enhanced by an all-new, reimagined space that allows you to relax for a few hours, or the whole day.āĀ
The Trellis reopens February 2 at 111 North Post Oak Ln.
