Get Your Hair Done at the Best Salon in the Country

It’s an unspoken fact that once you find a hair salon you love, you never go anywhere else. But the hunt to find that salon is oft long and arduous, filled with hours of skimming Yelp reviews, Instagram stalking, and botching hand-cut bangs in your bathroom mirror. Well, you might as well avoid all of that, and go to the best salon in the country.

Late last month, Therapy Hair Studio, located at 2727 Saint St. in River Oaks, was named Salon Today’s “2021 Salon of the Year Grand-Prize Honoree,” an award that’s basically like winning an Oscar for hair in the U.S. and Canada, per a report from Paper City.

When Salon Today Editor in Chief Stacey Soble surprised co-founders David Bamford and Luis Perez with the award, both were speechless.

That’s crazy,” Bamford repeated in a video Salon Today posted to YouTube. “I was happy to be top three, but I’m happy that we won.”

Bamford and Perez co-founded Therapy Hair Studio 14 years ago. The luxe 6,700-square-foot studio includes 22 stations—with ring lighting, perfect for that glow-up Insta pic.

“When you think about it, the salon is the only place an individual will stare at themselves in the mirror from 40 minutes to two hours, and they can be self-conscious,” Bamford told Salon Today. “Our large round mirrors have lighting like a ring light, which is the most flattering.”

The studio also has a spa treatment room and a shopping area that includes candles, jewelry, hair and personal care products, silk pillowcases, plus Therapy’s own makeup line, called Addiction.

Therapy offers a wide range of services, including balayage coloring, Brazilian blowouts, extensions, chemical peels, and more. There’s even a “shine free” service for grooms in the studio’s wedding packages. Some specialty services—like extensions and color correction—require a 15-minute consultation with new clients.

All these services can get a bit pricey, but when you’re at the literal best salon in the country, you know it’s worth it.

9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tues and Thurs, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wed and Fri, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sat, closed Mon. Therapy Hair Studio, 2727 Saint St. Learn more here.
