Take a peek behind the scenes of our ultra-colorful April 2020 fashion shoot, inspired by the spring runways, red carpets, and store windows all awash in vibrant hues this season.

With such big and bold looks, we knew we needed a background that could hold its own. Enter Present Company, the lively Montrose watering hole known for its uber-photogenic decor, like its colorful murals, loud furniture, neon signs, multitude of plants, and funky birdcages. There’s a reason we deemed it the city’s most Inagrammable bar in our December 2019 cover feature.

Perfect location, check. Add to that a stellar team armed with the brightest spring looks pulled from fabulous local shops, vivid makeup (hello Euphoria effect), and wild, amped-up hair on our gorgeous model, and you’ve got the recipe we used to achieve this splashy, fully saturated concept.

Abby Ledoux
Abby Ledoux traded Canada’s border for Mexico’s when she moved to Texas from northwestern Vermont in November 2017 to join the staff at Houstonia. An alumna of Emerson College’s journalism program in Boston, Abby was previously associate editor of three weekly newspapers in her home state of Vermont. There, she covered everything from Bernie Sanders to the heroin epidemic and won numerous state and regional awards for her work, including the Vermont Press Association’s 2014 Rookie of the Year. She was also an investigative reporting fellow at the New England First Amendment Coalition. Today, Abby is excited to explore Houston’s vibrant, diverse culture (and shopping scene). Aside from fashion and design, she’s passionate about politics, hip hop and Mexican food. She believes leopard is a neutral and red lipstick can fix almost anything.
