As Lorde said, we’ll never be royals, it don’t run in our blood—but we can still enjoy some of their favorite products.

Some special MFAH Shop inventory, which includes the selection featured here plus more gems (literally—fine jewelry—and figuratively—stuffed corgis), celebrates the current exhibit “Tudors to Windsors: British Royal Portraits from Holbein to Warhol,” on display through January 27.

The portraits, particularly those from the Tudor era, include minute detail to showcase the expensive fabrics, metals, and jewels worn by the ruling class—at the time, dress code was based on social status, as a November 17 lecture by MFAH European art curator Helga K. Auisch entitled “Rifling Through the Royal Wardrobe” will detail. Of course, those sumptuary laws are a thing of the past, but eagle-eyed observers still keep a close watch on, say, what Meghan Markle wears to the Invictus Games.

When it comes to owning a piece of that lifestyle, price points vary by commitment level: For the casual royal family enthusiast who follows @kensingtonroyal on Instagram, a birdcage umbrella favored by HRH Queen Elizabeth II for less than $30. For the devotees who rose at 3 a.m. for both royal wedding broadcasts, the ever-popular $150 wellies photographed on everyone from Diana to Kate Middleton. And, for the most dedicated Anglophiles, a $1,220 antique necklace from the days of George V.

Rifling Through the Royal Wardrobe will take place from 4–5 p.m. on Saturday, November 17. $5 MFAH members, $10 non-members.
