It’s official: Lace-up sandals are the hottest shoe this season. Sandals that criss-cross and wrap around the ankle offer a new take on last summer’s ‘it’ shoes, the single-strap and ankle-strap sandals. But that’s not to say there isn’t an element of enticement with these sexy flats. In a way, they ask for attention. Lately, I find myself staring at someone who’s sporting lace up sandals, whether they’re wrapped around the ankle, knee-high or even thigh-high. They’re the perfect transition piece from fall to spring and spring to fall; when your feet don’t want to be suffocated in thick socks and boots but don’t want to be completely bare. Pair them with your go-to striped tee and boyfriend shorts to give the outfit some edge or show off a pair with a simple A-line dress. Both delicate and edgy, this look doesn’t have to break the bank: Check out these wallet-friendly versions.
