Few colorscome with as much baggage as pink, the signature color of Barbie, Steel Magnolias-era Julia Roberts and sorority girls everywhere. But the hue is getting a high-style makeover. Dialed down to its palest, most powdery tones, pink has dominated the spring/summer runways of design houses like Carolina Herrera, Alexander McQueen and Jason Wu.
Making its evolution official: Along with Serenity (a washed-out sky blue), Rose Quartz was named one of Pantone’s two colors of 2016.
Sarah may be a native of Dallas/Fort Worth, but today she’s loyal to Houston. (She still loves the Cowboys.) She joined the Houstonia team in October 2014, heading up fashion, style and design coverage and covering other beats including the local drag queen scene and all things Matthew McConaughey.
A Rice alum, she previously worked for CultureMap and the Houston Chronicle.
