Kitchen 713 Has Closed

The popular restaurant with a menu that spanned the globe ended service Sunday.

Kitchen 713 has closed, ending service on Sunday, according to CultureMap.

The notable restaurant from James Haywood and Ross Coleman was known for a menu that boldly reflected Houston's diversity, from shrimp and grits to Ghanian quail, and from fried chicken dinners to dan dan noodles. 

According to the report, Haywood and Coleman—recipients of a 2016 James Beard nomination for Best Chef: Southwest—are looking to hit the reset button. There's interest in investigating West African influences, says the report, and pop-ups will be planned.

Kitchen 713 spent about two years at its 4601 Washington Avenue location, after moving from Canal Street.
