The traditional grey bungalow with white trim is hiding a naughty little secret. Darling Way quietly opened its doors several months ago on White Oak Blvd. in the Heights and serves as the neighborhood's living homage to 50 Shades of Grey.
Owner Beth Leibling wanted to create a retail space where adults could have an open conversation about their sex lives, their likes, their dislikes, and a place to find fabulous items that enhance the sex lives of partners everywhere. The bungalow itself is comfortable—you could be walking into a friends’ home. (You know, that friend who you can talk about anything with, and you do, including all the details of what happens between the sheets.)
A far cry from the tawdry, cheap vibe of lesser chains, Darling Way brings all the goodies without any of the shame. It's a physical acknowledgement that both genders love sex and that we don’t need to be ashamed of talking about it anymore.
At the entrance you’ll find beautiful jewelry and masquerade ball masks, but take a few steps deeper into the rabbit hole to find traditional lingerie with lace, leather, silk, and an array of thigh-highs with every imaginable pattern.
Explore further into the bungalow's various rooms and you’ll find chains, chokers, whips and ties for those who like to add some spice to their sexual adventures. Or, if you're new to the erotic arts, you can purchase some reading material for inspiration from the Darling Way bookshelves, or have a chat with Leibling herself.
In addition to being the shop's owner, Leibling also hosts a radio show: Love and Laughter with Beth, which airs Saturday evenings on 97.5 FM; she's basically heard it all. In her desire to offer more than just physical things, she's created a workshop series to encourage more hanky panky between couples through dialogue, instruction, and conversation. If it’s kinky, naughty, and fun, it's probably at Darling Way.
Darling Way is located at 3423 White Oak Dr., 855-932-7546, darlingway.com.
