Celebrate 713 Day with Some of Houston's Brightest Rap Stars

Houston’s soon to be the third largest city in the country, so it’s only fitting that we have our own holiday. And since 8/32, 2/81, and 3/46 aren’t days in the calendar, it’s only fitting we revert to the OG area code for our special day. Whether or not you have that clearly superior 713 area code (sorry transplants, we love you, too), you can still celebrate everything you love about Houston with this concert featuring some of our greatest Third Coast rappers.
On this July 13, you’ll find Lil' Keke, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Big Pokey, and Screwed Up Click, as well as rising stars like Yung Pooda and Billyracxx, along with at least 10 more acts at Rise Rooftop in Midtown. There’ll also be food trucks, vendors, photo booths, and more. Masks are encouraged, according to Rise’s website, and health and safety guidelines are still in place.
For a mere $40 you can spend your Tuesday night celebrating Houston under the stars alongside some of H-Town’s brightest stars, while $75 will get you VIP access. Add on another $40 (for a total of $80 before taxes), and you can meet Lil' Keke and snap some selfies.
If that doesn’t sound like the best way to slay 713 Day, we don’t know what does.
June 13. Form $40. Rise Rooftop, 2600 Travis, St R. More info and tickets at eventbrite.com.
