Tony Mandola’s, the restaurant owned and operated by Tony and Phyllis Mandola, announced last month that they would be closing the doors of its flagship location on 1212 Waugh.

The restaurant, which has been serving Houstonians since 1982 with a diverse array of seafood dishes featuring Italian and Creole cuisine, announced its closing on July 26. But all is not lost while the Mandola's made the announcement of its closing, they also shared that the search of a new location for the local seafood eatery was in full force.

Amy  sales tax permit application filed with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts that indicated the restaurant's new location at 1017 Houston Avenue, near the Washington Corridor.  The new location for Tony Mandola's will occupy the former Avenue Grill location.

Laurenzo Restaurant Group confirmed that the space would be the future home of the Houston mainstay.

McCarthy writes that the tax permit is set to go in effect in October of this year.
