A charitable haute soiree raised some serious dough last week when more than 250 guests came to the sold-out, fifth annual A Couture Cause launch party. The event debuted the 2018 Trend Guide, a highly coveted coffee table book featuring local trendsetters and do-gooders as models, and 100 percent of ticket sales and silent auction proceeds benefited A Shelter for Cancer Families and the Youth Hope Association. A portion of the funds, which totaled over $75,000, also went to the city’s Harvey Relief Fund.
Attendees took home their own copy of this year’s Trend Guide, created by Houston fashion bloggers Lyndsey Zorich and Candace Thomas and photographer Traci Ling. The trio worked with A Couture Cause’s 2018 chairwomen—Neeki Kashani, Carrie Brandsberg-Dahl, Shannon Addison, Christine Falgout, and Stephanie Fleck—to collaborate with local designers and boutiques, including Tootsie’s and Vintage Contessa & Times Past, to showcase this year’s top trends. Fashionable Houstonians chosen to model the season’s looks, including entrepreneurs and artists, were selected for their commitment to philanthropy.
Big Brothers Big Sisters was the scene of last Thursday’s festivities, which included refreshments and drinks by Adair Kitchen, Armandos, B&B Butchers & Restaurant, Eloise Nichols Grill & Liquors, The Pass & Provisions, Macaron by Patisse, SusieCakes, and Alma Rosa Winery, plus music by DJ RAMALAMA.
The 2018 Trend Guide is available to purchase online through A Couture Cause, and proceeds continue to benefit the aforementioned non-profits.
