A page from "Color Me Kendra."

Moms with artistically inclined kids are about to benefit big time thanks to an adorable new gift idea from Austin jeweler Kendra Scott: "Color Me Kendra," a downloadable PDF coloring book of five jewelry designs, encourages kids to color the template and, starting today, take the finished blueprint to a Kendra Scott store to bring the piece to life.

The coloring pages show line drawings of five popular Kendra Scott pieces already available for customization through the company's Color Bar, but including your child in the process feels pretty ingenious. It's heartfelt, and you're bound to wear it a lot more than you would a macaroni necklace.

Kids can put crayon to paper on the Ruby bracelet, a cuff with a four-stone cluster; the dangling Mary Gene earrings; gem-studded Elora hoops; the dainty lariat Tomon necklace, or the Maddie choker—just make sure they know your favorite color.  And if your kid is a regular Picasso with the Crayola? Well, maybe you deserve all five.

Now is a good time to make sure your child knows your favorite color, or maybe even your favorite gemstone. But then again, this is Kendra Scott we're talking about—it's going to be pretty no matter how wild your child's imagination might be.
