This converted Heights gas station from partners Bobby Heugel and Justin Yu becomes our destination of choice whenever storm clouds appear and it starts to rain: That means the best hurricane in the city is officially half-off—just one of the upscale bar-restaurant’s several weather-related specials. Watch as bartenders pile crushed ice high in a hurricane glass with rum, citrus, and house-made syrup before topping it off with a dusting of powdered sugar that sweetens the edible orchid garnish. Each sip invites reveries of sunnier days, ideally on a beach, far from the rain rolling off the inviting patio’s metal awning.
