Bar Type(s)
Beer, Ice House
Description

It was the end of an era when 75-year Heights institution Jimmy’s Ice House closed shop in 2017, at least until a new owner scooped up the White Oak property, supersized the patio, purged what were without question the grimiest bathrooms in the city, and (gasp) added liquor. The spit-shined joint may no longer serve Lone Star from an Igloo cooler, but it does still honor the old Jimmy’s beer prices (and serve Jameson on tap). All signs point to a successful reboot; nowadays you’re about as likely to share a picnic table with a chain-smoking Jimmy’s regular as you are a newer, Yuppier patron.
