Description

Operating out of what was once Houston’s first movie theatre (the Isis, ca. 1912), Prohibition offers a burlesque show alongside dinner on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as more traditional lunch and dinner service. Chef Ben McPherson seems to have drawn inspiration from every continent and period in creating his exquisite menu, from the banh mi panzanella—a sort of bread salad version of the popular Vietnamese sandwich—to smoked fried chicken, pimento-and-cheese sandwich, and chicken-fried oysters, which are delicately fried and secured to tiny johnny cakes with Kewpie mayonnaise.
