Amazón Grill Editor’s Pick
The fast-casual member of the Cordúa family empire, Amazón Grill is a counter-service café offering innovative dishes and addictive fried plantain chips. The business crowd and ladies-who-lunch come for grilled steak salads, puffy tacos, empanadas, enchiladas, and other Latin plates with generous portions. Families with children are well-represented at dinnertime, and on weekends you have to duck to avoid the kiddie-birthday balloons. Save room for dessert, especially the killer tres leches cake and the restaurant's famous tableside s'mores—you get to roast the marshmallows yourself over an open flame. Some of the whimsical furnishings from the now-closed Galleria location of Américas were moved here during a recent remodel, giving the place a new look.
