Named for the maternal side of executive chef/owner John Sheely’s family, Osteria Mazzantini showcases Sheely’s Italian heritage in the same sort of upscale yet relaxed atmosphere that’s made his Mockingbird Bistro a popular destination for over a decade. Sheely brought on Chef Paul Lewis to help him interpret a modern, casual Italian menu, and the results are stunning: chicken and duck liver mousse under a thin layer of balsamic jelly, house-made bucatini alla carbonara with crispy pig jowls, and king salmon with a cavolo nero sauce are just a few favorites. The well-curated wine list, smart cocktail program, and novel desserts are all attractions in themselves, turning Osteria Mazzantini into a Galleria juggernaut.
