Inconspicuously nestled in one of Bellaire Chinatown’s many strip malls, Pho Ga Dakao is the go-to place for the chicken version of this Vietnamese noodle soup. Pho Ga Dakao uses free-range chickens for a deeper flavor and richer aroma. While there are many places that serve chicken phở, there aren’t many with such high standards, and many in the Vietnamese community consider this the only true chicken pho around. Pho Ga Dakao also serves a fantastic chicken salad made with banana blossoms and a sweet vinegar-based dressing. For true connoisseurs, additions include such delicacies as gizzards, liver, heart, and eggs.
