Description

Founded in 1982 as Tony Mandola’s Blue Oyster Bar on the Gulf Freeway, this stalwart seafood favorite has since moved to Montrose, where the Mandola family—which has shaped Houston’s dining scene since Sam and Margherite Mandola arrived in Houston from Palermo, Italy, in 1913—continues to serve up long-time favorites such as its excellent Sopa Tomas with shrimp, avocado and pico de gallo and its snapper Martha with shrimp, crawfish tails and Gulf blue crabmeat in a basil-wine butter sauce.
