Houston Cinema Arts Festival returns this November 11th through 22nd for the 13th year, with over 40 programs happening virtually, outdoors, and indoors across Houston. This year's theme is The Third Coast, a loving lens through which to celebrate and explore the Gulf Coast region, and especially Houston where the term was coined, and its film, art, music, cultures, performance, food, history, peoples, threats, and opportunities.

The festival kicks off with the Opening Night film Red Rocket with director Sean Baker (Tangerine, The Florida Project) in attendance following its sold out Astroworld screening. The film was shot in Texas City and premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. The next night holds the World Premiere of Bushwick Bill: Geto Boy with director Gregy Roman and Bushwick Bill's son Javon Shaw in attendance alongside Bun B. The film will reprise on closing night. Other highlights include the Houston premiere of Memoria starring Tilda Swinton, the Houston premiere of The Humans starring Steven Yeun and Beanie Feldstein, and the Texas premiere of Whether the Weather is Fine starring Filipino pop star Daniel Padilla. The festival also includes the homecoming screenings for films from Houstonians, including Acid Test by Jenny Waldo, Again, Together by Ronald L. Jones, and the World Premiere of The Blazing by Jonathan Caouette, among others. See why MovieMaker Magazine named Houston Cinema Arts Festival One of the Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World.
