Emancipet's first clinic in Houston received a $1 million gift from ASPCA. Emancipet Houston will spay/neuter 7,000-8,000 animals per year, and provide approximately 10,000 preventive care visits. After six to nine months of operation, the non-profit plans to move into a brick-and-mortar space. By 2017, the organization plans to have three permanent locations in underserved areas of Houston, which currently has an estimated 800,000 to 1,200,000 stray animals.
