We've all got fun prints hanging in our closets, but it's tempting to only pair them with solid-colored pieces. It feels safer that way. But why not mix those prints together? Pair stripes with your animal prints, plaids with herringbones, et al. The key is to keep the scale similar or work from the same color palette—black, white and other neutrals in light- or medium-weight fabrics work for year-round outfits. The result is a look that oozes style and confidence.

This outfit pairs a striped blouse with a leopard pencil skirt and a Missoni-inspired zig zag straw hat. The prints are separated by a dramatic corset-style belt at the waist, and from there a solid black purse is all you need. This is the perfect ladylike outfit for any occasion.

For a different take on mixing leopard print and stripes, I combined these fun velvet shorts and a striped crop top. I added a retro-style leopard hat, black gloves and lots of jeweled bracelets. This look is more trendy for parties or clubbing.

This black-and-white houndstooth and plaid combo is actually one dress. I love the femininity of the style mixed with the boldness of the prints.

For this outfit I added a striped blouse to a plaid skirt, separated by a black belt at the waist for that schoolgirl style. A short black blazer, thigh-high socks and bejeweled phone case complete the look.
