Stilted giraffes, African performers, and airbrushed human safari animals greeted guests as they entered the Royal Sonesta on Nov. 21, 2015. Over 600 supporters came to support Citizens for Animal Protection, collectively raising over $700,000 through the extravagant evening.
Throughout the night guest enjoyed auctions, silhouettes by Cindi Rose, t-shirts with pets painted on them by Pasha, and high energy sounds by Latin Guitarist Armin Safari and percussion Robert Feliciano. The Celebrity Pet of the Year was won by Marian and Austin Cornelius, and their dog Suri. Chairmen Penny and Paul Loyd along with co-chairmen Laura McInvale Brown and Phillip Brown were thrilled with the results of the evening.
Citizens for Animal Protection, a non-profit organization, has served pets and people in the Greater Houston Area for over 40 years.
