For more than 39 years, MECA has delivered quality arts instruction and support services to Houston’s under-served youth and their families. MECA’s home in the Old Sixth Ward, the Historic Justin E. Dow School, serves as a cultural hub for artists of color, often providing them a platform and a venue for their artistic endeavors.
