If getting paid to wear Old English garb sounds like a dream job, you're in luck: Texas Renaissance Festival, the nation's largest fest of its kind that boasts more than 500,000 spectators every year, is hosting a job faire this weekend.
Organizers are looking to fill 500 positions in the following areas: hawkers, sales of food and merchandise, food prep, games and rides and more. Applicants should be prepared to work 12 consecutive weekends, dress in costume and learn the King’s English.
Auditions are Saturday, September 17 and Sunday, September 18 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Texas Renaissance Festival Grounds in Todd Mission. No jobs are too big or small, so be prepared to "audition" on stage.
Tex-Ren Fest is every weekend this October and November, where audiences can see demonstrations from blacksmiths and glassblowers, purchase wares from swordsmiths and seamstresses and gobble up a few of the 80,000-plus turkey legs consumed annually in this 16th-century English playground.
