The Houston Children’s Charity 21st Annual Gala was the first black tie event held at the new Post Oak Hotel in Uptown Houston.  This year's gala was chaired by Leticia and Stephen Trauber and honored Penny and Paul Loyd, Jr. for their continued generosity and support. BMW of West Houston and Momentum BMW Southwest served as the event’s Title Sponsors.

Upon arrival, guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, including a signature libation crafted by Landry’s mixologist and Houston Children’s Charity CEO, Laura WardAs the dinner chimes rang, nearly 750 guests were ushered into the ballroom, to enjoy a triple entrée dinner, created by executive chef Jean Luc Royere. The room, designed by The Events Company, resembled a Hollywood stage set for show-stopping elegance.

Following dinner, guests participated in exciting live and big board auctions. Sought-after items included a trip to the home plant of the BMW Group in Munich, Germany to pick out a new BMW M5; Sir. Anthony Hopkins original artwork; a VIP Golden Nugget Las Vegas experience where four couples will fly aboard Tilman Fertitta’s private jet for two nights of pure luxury; and a 4-person experience with the Rockets to travel on the team's chartered plane for an away game! The highlight of the night was when world-renowned artist, Pitbull, aka “Mr. Worldwide,” took the stage to perform hits like “Hotel Motel,” “Fireball,” and “Timber,” creating an instantly-packed dance floor.

The 2018 gala raised a record-breaking, more than $2.2 million for Houston Children’s Charity’s various programs focused on improving the quality of life for Houston’s underprivileged, abused and disabled children who might otherwise be left behind.
