music artist in Houston are showing listeners around the world just how multifaceted the Bayou City is. From the infectious sounds of holiday ballads to the larger-than-life lyrics from rising rap starlet Sally Sossa, Houstonians should never fret over needing some new tunes to listen to.

Here's all-new music from Houston artists this week. 

Xiya D, Thankful Carols

 

Christmas came a little early this year, and it's all thanks to Houston native Xiya D. Her latest project, Thankful Carols, is a multi-genre EP that captures the Thanksgiving holiday from 8 different perspectives. The compilation project transitions from pop to hip-hop and rock, and even includes a bilingual track, that serves as the modern Thanksgiving counterpart to Feliz Navidad.

DJ Snake, "SG" featuring LISA, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion

 

Megan Thee Stallion is taking her talents to the UK, as DJ Snake enlisted the Grammy Award-winning femcee for his new song, "SG." The posse cut not only enlists The H-Town Hottie but Ozuna and LISA of BLACKPINK. 

Robert Ellis, "Souvenirs"

 

Robert Ellis released his own rendition of John Prine's "Souvenirs." Filled with passion and emotion, Ellis reminisces on his Uncle Dick Joiner and the time they spent together when Ellis was a young boy. 

Yung Knxw, "Dream State"

 

As the son of the late Bushwick Bill of The Geto Boys, Yung Knxw is following in his father's footsteps as an emcee. His latest effort is a hypnotic journey with mesmerizing production. 

Sally Sossa, "Weird 2 Me"

 

Houston hitmaker Sally Sossa released her new single "Weird 2 Me," earlier this week. She dominates the song and gives a comedic play on the widely circulated Tik Tok meme.

Bun B, "Light The Fuse" featuring Slim Thug and Paul Wall 

 

Serving as the new anthem for the Houston Rockets, Port Arthur native Bun B teamed up with Houston OG's Slim Thug and Paul Wall to create the home team's new hype song for the 2021-2022 season.
