Each Friday, Gastronaut rounds up the most notable opening and closing of the week.
Pho Binh

As of this week, the eagerly anticipated Pho Binh in the Heights is open. This marks the seventh location for the popular Houston chain, which began in a little double-wide trailer in South Houston back in 1983. Customers appear to already be taking advantage of the restaurant's long hours—10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily—as we noted several diners on the patio this morning just past 10 a.m., eating pho for breakfast the way it's done back in Vietnam.
In closings, the very last location of Texadelphia in Houston is no more. Swamplot reported earlier this week that the philly cheesesteak joint with a Texas twist at Westheimer and Fountain View is gone for good. If you can't stand the idea of a world without that amazing mustard blend on the Founder's Favorite (a sandwich we ate way too frequently in college), you can always drive to Austin or Dallas or, heck, even Oklahoma, where Texadelphias are still thriving. Meanwhile, those in search of a better cheesesteak experience can always head to Pappa Geno's on TC Jester, where the legit Philly-style cheesesteak is second to none.
