A little over a month after a large kitchen fire forced Alma Latina to close, the Heights restaurant has announced it will be reopening this week following extensive clean-up and renovations.
"Thirty-eight days later, it took a village but after long days and countless prayers we are excited to announce that we will be re-opening July 20th," says manager Sheree Vasquez, who had originally anticipated it would take months for the restaurant to get back on its feet.
Alma Latina made the best of the situation—making lemonade out of lemons, if you will—to slightly remodel its dining room, most notably modernizing its back bar, the better to serve its extensive list of margaritas and cocktails. When the restaurant reopens on Wednesday, look for the rest of the menu to return as well, including a coffee program that had been recently introduced before the fire on June 7.
"We are forever humbled by all the support," says Vasquez, "and can't wait to see everyone in the Heights."
