The Houston vs. Los Angeles rivalry doesn’t stop at just baseball. Just in time for the start of tonight’s Game 1 of the 2017 World Series, our hometown hot dog experts, Good Dog have laid down a friendly gauntlet to Hollywood’s iconic Pink’s Hot Dogs. The “dog off” evolved yesterday via a "twitter tête-à-tête” according to their PR contact Jamie Smith of Squash Blossom Marketing. Good Dog and Pink’s squared off on social media over which of their hometown teams would walk away with the pennant.
We’re down like 4 flats on a pickup truck!! Once the @Astros win, we’ll happily take your $$ to give out free #HotDogs to #HTown! 🤘🌭💰 https://t.co/Knu9hjMXBE

After the Twitter go round, Good Dog owners Amalia Pferd and Daniel Caballero, who are huge Astros fans, connected via video conference with Pink's owners Gloria and Richard Pink to announce their tasty bet: Whichever city loses will be buying the winning city’s fans all the hot dogs (up to $500 in dogs) we can eat the day after the final game.
“We are thrilled to be working with hot dog legends Pink’s of L.A., as we watch our hometown heroes the Astros take on the Dodgers. There’s no crying in baseball! Only hot dogs,” says the Good Dog team.
So even if you don't care about the sports game, stay tuned and be hungry Houston, because your next dog at Good Dog might just be compliments of Los Angeles. Can't wait? You can visit your local Good Dog in either the Heights or Montrose as they debut a special Astros Dog this week. If the game becomes too much to handle, all Houston craft beers will be half-off, too.
